Our Story

Ajoriya Foundation was founded by a group of professionals dedicated to documenting, promoting, and enabling enterprise development in cultural heritage. Ajoriya is the Bhojpuri word for “dawn” or “a new beginning,” reflecting our philosophy that heritage is actively created and shaped by individuals and communities.

Vision

Ajoriya Foundation envisions heritage as a living force that enriches learning, empowers communities, and connects the past with the present to shape a sustainable future.

Mission

We work across the following four core areas to integrate heritage into education, empower local artisan communities through sustainable cultural livelihoods, and use digital technology to strengthen local institutions, archives, and living heritage practices.
